Fitness

Fitness is simple, despite what many will tell you. There are as many ways to get and stay fit as there are people in the world. However, with so much information flying around, it can be hard to know what fitness tips to follow—and which to avoid.

The basics of getting fit are this:

  1. Incorporate strength training and cardio in your workout routine.  It can be in the same workout, which I like to do, and which you’ll find in my workouts. Or, you can do them separately. But do both. And no, strength training won’t make you bulky. It will make you lean.
  2. Whatever you’re doing, make sure it’s challenging. And then, change the workout, equipment or exercises to keep it challenging. If you’re doing weights, increase the weights when it gets too easy. If you’re doing bodyweight workouts, do a harder progression. And if we’re talking cardio, do whatever it is faster (or harder, or higher). You need to push yourself outside your comfort zone—just a little—to move forward.
  3. Like your workout. Ideally, love your workout, but just find something you can stand doing. If you’re engaged with your workout and workout program, then it won’t be a chore. You’ll also stick with it.
