Bodyweight Workouts

Bodyweight—or calisthenics—workouts use only your own bodyweight for resistance. But that doesn’t mean they’re easy. Just like weighted exercises, it just requires different levels of difficulty.

For the experienced fitness enthusiast, bodyweight exercises can pose some of the biggest (and impressive) challenges. For those beginning their fitness journeys, bodyweight exercises can be challenging enough while also teaching good form.

Some benefits of bodyweight and calisthenics workouts are that they:

  • Travel easily (you can do them almost anywhere)
  • Are less likely to cause injury
  • Require some creativity to progress
  • Build more functional strength
  • Work your stabilizing muscles for optimal balance and agility
  • Require a skill-based progression, which is more engaging
  • Can make you just as strong as weighted workouts
  • Keep you lean easily, as the high number of reps add a lot of cardiovascular benefits
  • Look damn impressive!

Here are my library of bodyweight workouts on the blog. If a workout looks too intense, you can always modify down.
